I went out round Leeds and took 150 Photos half at night half at day.
these were my favorite out comes of the photos in which i had taken:

Im into the texture of my Fred Perrys

The wierd thing with this photo was the fact that on the bottom left corner

Now during the lesson we brought our photos in and mine got laid out and organized and our group had to identify how out of ten conclusions it could be:
Alphabetically
Urban
Filthy
Streets
Brick
Night
Graffeti
Decay
Time
Journey
Now everyone went around the class room and ticked what they thought the organisation was
Urban got ticked the most in the survey if you will.
we were then given 2 mins to combine the pieces.
i chose
URBAN JOURNEY AT NIGHTGripping eyy? now your proberly wonder why i chose that? well what i did was catagorise all the words down. i figured the anomylous results should be erased. they were Alphabetical and filth. Then i combine them down into pairs which went with each other. the pairs were:
Streets and Journey - When on a Journey you most likely walk through streets
Night and Urban- Sets a dangerous scary scene
Brick and Graffeti - Graffeti is on walls
Decay and Time - Things decay in time
Then what i did was catogrise them down into single words which ended up as:
Streets and Journey - Stage, where the places will lead youNight and Urban- Scene, the heart of the images
Brick and Graffeti - Observational. most likely to bee seen
Decay and Time - Character, how the place looksnow sir. i began to thing to myself, i can include all of these things on my photos cant i?
providing i picked a good name which could sub catagorise them all, and that was
"An Urban Journey at Night"
The next stage of the brief required me to collect:
Ten Primary Resorces of this subject
and Ten Secondary Resorses to the subject
Well i researched into Urban and incuded some images i found in books and on the internet, here are a few secondary conclusions:

Urban - An urban area is an area with an increased density of human-created structures in comparison to the areas surrounding it. Urban areas may be cities, towns or conurbations, but the term is not commonly extended to rural settlements such as villages and hamletsThen i went out and took some photographs of an urban journey at night, here are a few:

Basically this backs up the secondary research, as all the things that people associate urban with is more or less true. Unsafe, Dangerous, Scary etc
Taking it further from just a few photographs, i then developed my photos on snapfish and
picked them up, after this i basically sketched the images, heres a couple of sketches i did:

I then thought how can i take this further?
so i then edited them to make them look more effective and have more feel!
here are the results i got:

I then went to the next lesson for a crit.
which envolved assessing the work with
A fact
An opinion
A question and
A problem to solve
this was my sheet

We then had to round them up into One of each that you liked.
mine were
At night it is dark
The photographs give a sinister reflection to urban lifeDo people act differently in an Urban setting oposed to a rural one?Do our surroundings reflect our mindset?after everyone in the class had done this they stuck them up in class on the wall in the areas they belonged, fact, opinion problem etc
we then removed one and re organised ones which were similar
then we repeated the process until one of each persons was left mixing round the areas.
mine was At night it is dark.
then who evers was catagorised as similar to yours you were in a group with. the others left with mine were:
Everything reflects light to some extent
black contrasts white
snow is an excuse
from this we gathered together to find out a new word we can use after debating we decided upon the word REFLECTIONS.
what reflects?
Emotion
Glass - Tv, Monitor, Windows, Camera lense, lights etc
Objects
Metal
Eyes
Mirrors
liquid
glasses
plastic etc
i provided some secondary research images which are stated below:

This image shows an african american man reflecting the past of raccism history through some glasses, or another persons eyes?

were as this piece to me shows a decendant visiting a memorial wall were his ansestors/ assendants may have perished to save thier future, i love this piece i find it more than effective and intreaging in multiple mannors
Bringing on a concept of primary. i took a few photographs in order to show this:

now i also got a few reflective materials together to help this.
after wards i thought of sill scenerios which mix the 4 of our things together.
One was:
The ice age was a lie! which basically meant we were evoluted before hand to a higher standard than now, however the problems with the planet were the same, for example global warming.
one of the solutions was to move the Earth away from the sun by so much making it colder so the ice caps wouldn't be melting etc, however it went wrong and we froze the Earth for mileniums, all evidence found would be kept in what some believe to be called Area 51.
The other concept i got was that The vampires went into space and stopped the Earth from moving so half of the world would remain in darkness forever so they could dine and rule it forever without the fear of sunlight.
yeahhhhhhhh well that concludes that area of research and development in which i studyed.
the next step was we all correlated our research and had to choose a problem with Leeds people.
however myself and David were the only members in the group at the time as the others had other needs at that moment, so after a load of ideas fluring we eventually came up with a nice simple concept which was
Are people in Leeds scared of the dark?
