statement of intent

Title - A line is character
Focus- To produce a set of images/ sketches of landscapes and people visually communicating emotion

My Secondary research basically covers the main factors of the question, 'what is a line?'
I have research that includes the following (in secondary format)

- dictionary, internet and peoples quotes in their response to the question (what is a line?)
- a series of images from unknown artists sketchbooks of landscapes and people
- photographs of people and landscapes
- general information in communication to a lines origin/ facts about lines.

My Primary research will include ( - if it is done           * if it is to be done):

- a series of images hand drawn and mixed media in communication to the question
- A statistical structure of peoples feelings toward the question (do you  think a line is character)
- photographs of people and landscapes
* a series of sketches and drawings in relation to landscapes around leeds with different characters. i.e. rough area's dirty, graffeti, homeless (generally shortcuts) to nicer areas such as the university area leading into the town center.
* 360 degree drawing (panaramic shot feel)
* a answer to my question

I plan to use mixed media featuring ink, crayon, chalk, papers, cards, pencils, fine liners etc
i will use the internet and books as resources, i plan to use internet software such as photoshop, illustrator and maybe some more i am not familiar with.
I will be using my olympus SLR for photographs with the added fixtures of Lens's and filters to bring out the feel and flow of the images i am taking, i will also scan in most of my work to edit it further on programs to manipulate them and make them better.

For this project i will document my work with:

rolls of paper (continuous journey drawing varied lengths)
A2 Design sheets
A4 Sketchbook
My blog
etc

boom x
