What practical skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?
Throughout the module, I believe i have developed a grate understanding and knowledge in how to use programs such as indesign photoshop and illustrator to a new degree of management.
Don't get me wrong i am no expect, far from it but i am on my way to becoming skillful on these programs.
Throughout my book of 100 'Light Links' CS2 Photoshop has been beneficial to my design process, as i have been manipulating my edited drawings on it and altering the colours, tones and sharpness etc.
Before this module if you told me to make a book I would be lost, however now i have learnt how to make different kinds of books and bind them in interesting and fun ways which are rare in my eyes as well as individual/ practical.
What approaches to/methods of problem solving have you developed and how have they informed your design development process?
I have improved my understanding on what research is suppose to do and how necessary it is in backing up your final project/ concept. It is the strongest value to have in the design process i would say as it depends upon the strength of that to declare the outcome you produce. As well as this i have learned that organize and categorize ing are key objects used in the deign process and these factors are the structure at telling a story of where you have started, the ideas you have chosen and where you have finished/ are at the present moment in time.
What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?
I have discovered that i have a great strength in gathering research and acting upon it with different concepts and ideas within it's roots.
What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these more fully?
Everything is my weakness, it is upon learning from mistakes i have made to develop and improve upon these to make it a weaker weakness. there is always room for improvement.
At the moment i believe that i need to buckle down on concepts at hand and show a greater understanding upon them as i seam to have a bit of a gap between developing and doing things which is not sustainable or exceptable in my eyes.
Identify five things you would do differently next time and what you expect to gain from doing these?
1. As everyone will say, the number one thing is management of time, as there isn't a great amount of work to show for this being a five week project.
2. I need to stick to a concept that way i will have something to actually develop from.
3. I need to document my work so i know when i have done it.
4. I need write a week plan out and set mini deadlines so i do not fall behind
5. I need to follow the above.
Are there any things we could have done differently that would have benefitted your progress?
Well i do believe i have been misinformed in crits in what i was actualy suppose to be changing. as i attempted to make a different book, which i then was told "a waste of time" then i was told to stick with the original idea, then i was told i should try something i was originally going to do in the first place in the final crit which didn't impress me much at all.
